Geriatric
Psychiatry: some hot topics from a European perspective |

The European Association of Geriatric
Psychiatry (EAGP) is the oldest geriatric psychiatry organisation
in the world, founded 1971. Our objectives are research promotion,
postgraduate education, and cooperation with national and international
bodies in the field. This should be accomplished through the organisation
of training courses in geriatric psychiatry, by encouraging collaboration
between all professions concerned with mental health in old age,
and by fostering of scientific projects. As an example of ongoing
collaborations with national societies and congresses on geriatric
psychiatry we are proud to present four oral presentations and
a poster pointing at different parts of the huge spectrum our specialty
accounts for, and at the same time representing varied European
countries.
